Each year the De Beers Inspired Ice Carving Competition is held during the Long John Jamboree in Yellowknife. Vast "aurora blue" ice blocks are harvested from Great Slave Lake, master ice-sculptors arrive from around the world, and a remarkable gallery of creations come alive.
